Konami recently released Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 for PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The collection received mixed reviews, all thanks to the underwhelming visuals and seemingly no updates to the original trilogy of the games. Some fans on Steam were straight-up disappointed by how they treated the original Metal Gear Solid in this collection.
What does Konami have in mind now? A leaker has revealed that Master Collection Volume 2 is on Konami’s mind, and it contains a title that would make it all worth it.
Konami is set to include Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of Patriots in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2!
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 contains the first three games in the series: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and MGS 3 Snake Eater. The games run fine; if you buy them on the Nintendo Switch, you will love playing them in portable mode.

If you buy them on a PlayStation console, an Xbox console, or even a PC, you will be disappointed by Konami’s lack of consideration for the basic features that games nowadays should have. They literally stuck up a bunch of bad ports for their unsuspecting fans.
But there is some good news too: the discovery of references to Metal Gear Solid 4, V, and Peace Walker within the files of the MGS Master Collection Vol. 1 has sent ripples of excitement through the gaming community.
These tantalizing hints suggest that these iconic titles may have been considered for inclusion in the collection or perhaps even hint at the potential release of a second volume. Fans have longed for the chance to revisit these classics on modern platforms, especially as Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of Patriots remains confined to the PS3. While the specifics remain a mystery, the mere existence of these references raises hopes for an extended journey back into the beloved world of Solid Snake and Big Boss.

While it’s an exciting prospect to see Metal Gear Solid 4 launch on modern consoles, there’s some level of fear that Konami will once again do an inconsiderate job with this upcoming collection too. Let’s hope they prove us wrong. When it comes to being able to play Metal Gear Solid V and 4 on the Nintendo Switch, we would try anything once.
Metal Gear Solid Collection Volume 1 Steam has its own share of problems
Gamers all over who showed a little courage and bought the Metal Gear Solid Collection Volume 1 Steam version have realized what a travesty this port is. The collection lacks any PC-specific graphic options. It reportedly runs at max 1080p, but mostly at 720p. And fans have discovered that Metal Gear Solid 3 still uses the pressure-sensitive buttons of the PS2 as a way of controlling. This is unusual given the fact that not every PC gamer can have such controllers.
It has to be seen how far Konami goes with this stuff. This problem would need to be fixed in some way. Let’s hope they clean up these matters before even going for a second collection.
