call of duty
After months of hearing about it and getting news regarding the same, it looks like Call of Duty is finally making its way to Xbox Game Pass. Fans of the Call of Duty franchise can rejoice, as they will soon be able to play one of the best Call of Duty games when they subscribe to Xbox Game Pass.
This information comes just a couple of days after CMA is getting very close to approving the much-discussed Microsoft Activision deal. It appears Microsoft has decided to prepare its Xbox Game Pass subscribers for said deal by giving them their first taste at a Call of Duty game in this library.
Xbox Game Pass might be getting its first Call of Duty game very soon!
When Microsoft announced their $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, people were literally blown away. They could not decide how to think or react, but Sony did; they instantly started their campaign to block the deal. They gave a number of reasons for being worried, one of them being the availability of Call of Duty games on Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft then claimed that Sony’s marketing deal restricts Activision from featuring Call of Duty titles on the Xbox Game Pass service. And yet, here we are looking at a tweet showing that Call of Duty Black Ops 2 might soon make its way to the service.
Some are confused about how it is possible after the agreement Activision has with Sony. One Reddit user seems to have a good answer for this: “Maybe they’re gonna put all the 360/PS3 CoDs on there and wait til next year for all the CoDs that released under the Sony marketing deal”.
This makes sense too; if they cannot feature big-budget current-gen games, they would start by bringing some older titles first. Now one question is, “Would these games only be available on Xbox Game Pass, or is there a chance of them coming to PC too?”
We would know soon enough; till then, take this piece of information with a huge grain of salt.
