Ubisoft has made a somewhat understated announcement about The Division 3, and it appears that fans of the third-person looter series are finally getting what they’ve been eagerly waiting for. The previous installment, The Division 2, received a mixed response at launch but still retained its hallmark shooting mechanics and groundbreaking visuals. Fans are now anticipating a similar experience in the upcoming installment.
The Division 3 release date may not be very close though
In a recent article, Ubisoft revealed that Julian Gerighty would serve as the executive producer for The Division franchise. Currently, he is overseeing the highly anticipated action game, Star Wars Outlaws, which is primarily developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment.

Ubisoft has announced that once Star Wars Outlaws is completed, Julian Gerighty will assemble a team to work on The Division 3. Which means we might have to wait a while before the game sees the light of day. This suggests that the game is still a few years away from release, but fans are already sharing their wishlists for this next installment.
The most significant request from fans is crossplay, and it makes perfect sense. The Division series is known for cooperative gameplay, where friends team up to explore the post-apocalyptic world and complete missions together. This cooperative element becomes even more critical when players venture into the Dark Zone, an area that is considerably more perilous but offers valuable loot.

Let’s hope that we start hearing more about The Division 3 in the near future. Until then, we can enjoy Assassin’s Creed Mirage for some gaming fun.
