Nintendo Switch 2 is a very curious mystery to many fans of this platform. Everyone knows it’s on the horizon, but no one knows when to expect it or how much they will have to pay for it. Numerous leaks and rumors all over the internet have been answering this question to some extent.
But that too has started confusing everyone; sometimes it’s this and other times it’s that. The recent Gamecom demo rumor was the biggest one, talking about how powerful the Nintendo Switch 2 is. And now someone on 4Chan has topped it up with even more information about its chipset!
4Chan user details the inner workings of Nintendo’s next-gen console, Switch 2
Nintendo is a very secretive company when it comes to talking about stuff they are not prepared to announce to people yet. They even straightaway deny things that they plan to announce two days later. Now that’s the dedication we love in our platform holders.
But a leaker on 4chan has given us a bunch of new details, some of which even the people watching the Gamescom demo behind closed doors did not notice. The first thing they said was that the Nintendo Switch 2 does not use the long-rumored Nvidia T239 chip. Nvidia was against using it because it was too dated. Nintendo once had plans to use it for the Nintendo Switch Pro but decided against it; that was almost two years ago.

The new chip Nintendo has chosen is much more capable and is named T254. It is said to be an insanely powerful chip capable of some really exciting things. For one, it is claimed that Zelda: Breath of the Wild gameplay people are discussing everywhere; for one that was running at 4K 60 using DLSS, it ran without DLSS.
That Matrix demo ran at 1440p and was being upscaled to 4K using DLSS 3.0.
The person mentions further that Nintendo is also preparing a Mario 64 demo that shows Princess Peach’s castle in 4K with ray tracing and all the bells and whistles. This demo might show up sometime in the future.
All this information is incredibly encouraging and exciting if it turns out to be true. And let’s be honest with ourselves now. The way things are developing, there’s a slim chance of this information being wrong. Nintendo might not show it, but fans want a powerful console; in fact, they wanted it yesterday. If Nintendo gives it to them tomorrow, it better give them something worth waiting for.
Here’s hoping all this is actually legit, as I would love to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on Switch, but it’s only possible if the next Nintendo console is as powerful as this 4chan user says.
